I avoid buying games on release, here are my reasons

I rarely buy day-one or preorder, because
1) waiting is no problem for me;
2) backlog is too big anyway.
But once or two a year I preorder games, because
1) I love so much the franchise;
2) I believe I will love this game;
3) I respect the developers.
This year it was Uncharted 4. In 2015: The Witcher 3 and Fallout 4.
