They are making a reasonable amount of money right now and the Weak USD probably is why they didn't drop the price. Snoy wants to wait a bit longer before a price cut having said the release of GTA4.

Well, if losing $280 Million dollars last quarter = making a reasonable amount of money, then I don't want you for an accountant.

And that is the loss after including all of the profit from the PS2, PSP, and all the software on all 3 systems. This tells us that the PS3 hardware is still losing a HUGE amount of money.

Or it means the Ps2/Psp arent as profitable as most assume/speculate... or it could mean that they are spending money on R&D for a slim Ps3 model...

Or it could mean you DONT KNOW WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON IN THE INNER WORKINGS OF SONY!

I love people who spout assumptions and speculations as facts.

I'll spout whatever I want, that's why its called a FORUM.

You can believe whatever you want, but I'll try to stick to a logical analysis. Your going to tell me the PS2 has suddenly gotten less profitable? Yeah, that realistic.

Actually thats very realistic. Less software, hardware, and peripherals sold = less profit. Unless Sony has a steady of sales on the Ps2/software/peripherals/any thing else that sales at a gain for them then the Ps2 can very well become less profitable. There comes a point when things dont bring in as much/enough money. Or else we would have walkmen and laser discs still.
