No Man's Sky is a disaster on PC. Currently 31% positive on Steam.

Apart from 20% chance of crash on loading a save, a few random freezes requiring a forced shut down, and that game breaking bug that made me start over. At least you can get a refund on PC. Anyway from what I've seen in the Steam discussion, best bet is to turn off v-sync and/or gsync whatever that is.

This sounds like you had a miserable time.

I was about to trade in the game instead of starting from scratch after 8 hours of trying to get out of the first system. It's better now. Yes, it still crashes occasionally but it is steadily growing on me. The soundtrack helps a lot with that and at least it saves often (if you don't go wandering through caves for hours) But true, NMS's amount of error reports I have submitted already doubled all the other crashes I've had since launch.
