Will the Xbox One S have a prolonged improvement on Xbox sales?

I'd say no.
1). It's not a significant upgrade for existing X1 owners
2.) X1 sells primarily on the basis of value - not feature set. We'd get Halo and Madden bundles regardless of whether the S existed or not.
3. 4K Blu ray is a nice bonus, but not really mainstream and honestly out reach for the majority of folks out there who can't afford a 4K TV to begin with
