I find it pretty funny to read many "take english, you don't have to read that way", because it's a debate we had the last 2 days on a french forum (talking about Persona 5). Lots of us will play a game in English or Japanese even if there is a good French dub, because reading subtitles is just normal stuff for us (we're used to English-only content). But our consensus was that English-speakers usually hate to read any subtitles and want/need a dub to play and enjoy a game, and then Japanese games need to get an English dub to be successful in US and UK (but can be pretty successful in non-English speaking countries without a dub) . Cultural differences I guess.
