I'd argue Jim is the closest thing the gaming industry has to investigative journalism. Despite the ridiculous persona.
If you actually follow his content, you'll notice that he has a lot more positive content than one might think (he has a show with the expressed purpose of creating positivity around select, deserving steam greenlight games for example) and his rewiews are generally carefully thought out and raise valid points.
He is far from a clickbait rewiewer that just does things to get a rise out of people. And while his negative coverage seems to be what he's famous for, seeing that he mostly covers problems with the industry on his jimquisition, that's far from the only thing he does. And even if he 'trashes' things he usually presents a well balanced and well argumented viewpoint underneath the cum- and pissjokes.
