yeah having an integrated PSU has a grand total of zero advantage...

on the other hands it has a shit ton of major design flows...

1 it is the most likely component to fail and if you are a collector it will fail before the rest it shouldn't warrant a brand new purchase when you could just buy a new PSU for $20...

2 It is also a big heat generator, encasing it with the rest is greatly increasing the risk of failure....

3 if you move around the world like I do and have to change PSU to fit local power requirements, switching a $20 bucks PSU is more cost efficient than buying a new console...

so 0-3 =-3 advantages...

oh boy.. what an idiotic post.

1. 2. The box now draws around 80W in gaming, 40W when watching blu-rays. This makes for a very simple ps design which doesn't even get lukewarm in operation (hence the S is as quiet as the old model).

3. The back says 110-240V 50/60Hz input. Go figure whether you need a different ps.....

so 3 in 3 fails for your "arguments".

good for 3point not the most common unfortunately...

still will be the one thing to fail even if it was a 10w phone charger.... Psu are the one thing that WILL fail over time.... Granted if you use it on a regular basis... Just yesterday we had a basic multi outlet with tension protection that failed and burned out for absolutely no reason.... And I guarantee you others will give overtime no matter the brand or quality....

still no real benefit to have it integrated beside some weird self satisfaction... Even if it had a 0,1% to fail why take the risk for absolutely zero practical gain.... Again I don't know where you put your audio video devices but mine have zero cable that show anyways...
