What does that mean, exactly? What do you suggest we do? And will that have any effect on the way the video game community behaves?

This sounds like "thoughts and prayers" on facebook. They achieve nothing.

I say the less attention we pay to them, the better.

Lead by example? Disavow those who engage in infantile and destructive ways? Hold each other accountable?

I donno, something other than "nothing."

I'm genuinely curious. Do you think leading by example would have any effect on people who are willing to attack a reviewer and take his site down just for writing a negative review of a game even they haven't played enough to know if it's that good, which would in some twisted way make Jim is the devil?

Those people are beyond saving. It's like trying to use arguments in the youtube comment section. It simply doesn't work. Same with disavowing them. As if they care. The more attention we pay to them, the more they feel they have accomplished something.

Doing "nothing" can be better than "something". Same way less can be more.
