I actually think having Samus silent worked really well in the Prime games. One of the core strengths of the trilogy is its atmosphere and sense of isolation. Having Samus talk would have detracted from that in my opinion. |
Isolation is not necessarily enhanced by silence or broken by speech. I absolutely, 1000% think that having internal monolgues like what we had in Fusion could have worked and enhanced the story. Fusion, imo, has a better story and greater sense of tension than any of the Prime games. That's not to say they are worse games, the Prime games are better overall. But The use of monologues and on occassion dialogues in Fusion didn't damage the sense of atmosphere or tension because of how they were handled. Having them done the same way in Prime would have been perfect. Especially since in ALL OF THE PRIME'S there are other NPCs who talk *to you* but you don't speak back because REASONS. How does that enhance anything? It doesn't.
