One game shouldn't have to be the end all, be all for one character. Samus has had many memorable adventures and her legacy has been pretty much set at this point. Hopefully we'll see more adventures in the future.

It's not the be all end all, but I do feel it significantly hurts her character when a major entry in the franchise, one that was sold as finally giving her a voice and revealing her past, portrays her very unflatteringly.

She HAD a voice.  The real traged is that Retro chickened out of giving Samus even text and for some bizarre reason made her a 100% silent protagonist and thus the only "big entry" voice is tied to Other M when we COULD have had 3 other games' worth that would drown out that rubish.

But Nintendo itself very much pretends Other M barely exists if at all, they don't even think of it as an option for moving the series forward.  So yeah, I am perfectly fine ignoring it.  Especially since most people have forgotten it completely while Prime 1 to 3 are remembered very well.
