10 year lifespan for PS3 and every other PS console has been constantly maintained An overlap with PS console lifespans has occurred again and again. PS2 and PS3 were introduced during the seventh year of the predecessor's lifespan. [p]
PS1 = 1994
PS2 = 2000
PS3 = 2006
Every six years a new PS console on market
PS4 = 2012?
PS5 = 2018?
and so on. lol.

That's a good analysis. Ever thought of becoming a professional and getting paid for stuff like this? You could do it.

I am forced to concur and submit myself to Rock_on_2008's amazing insight. It appears to provide an accurate formula: I wonder if Sony themselves know of the magic of PSn = 1988 + 6n. They could do away with market analysis, sales research and roadmaps and simply announce a PS49 due in the year 2282. Incredible!
