Will the olympics be a disaster?

But seriously, there are problems everywhere, including Brazil. I do agree we suffer with violence more than Europe (although US is not really any better) and the political problems affected the Olympics, but it is far from a disaster. The water may not be perfect, but it is on par with London and Beijing, if not better, Brazilians are very receptive, the competition places are good, Rio is a beautiful place and there is a huge effort to avoid terrorism and zika problems. I don't understand why can't people just enjoy the Olympics. Many bad things were said about the World Cup here too, but it ended up being very good (except for the fact that Brazil lost).

Well perhaps we should just get rid of the Olympics?

Well, it is an alternative, maybe we should only have Olympics after every person in the world have a good life quality, which will most likely never happen. I really love sports, I'm even going to Rio in two days, but there are more importante things we could invest instead of the Olympics.
