The beauty of this republican experiment is that people of all creeds, faiths, and identities can find common cause under a single flag and single constitution. The diversity of opinion and heritage is what makes this country so strong. America isn't white or Christian or heterosexual. It's the belief that all people are created equal and deserve the right to self-govern. America is an idea, not a demographic.
