Don't get me wrong, I know the army of NK is horribly outdated and doesn't stand a chance on paper against the US. But you can never know how exactly a full-fledged war will turnout. Let alone who will join which side when it comes to that. China has been pissed against NK lately, but no one can say for sure they won't support them when the US tries to invade them. China has no interest in a united western oriented Korea that has a border right to them.

Vietnam was political.  There was never any intention to win that war.  As for China, they will not step in militarily to help NK...especially when their entire economy depends on NK's enemy in said war.  More so, relations between them have become heavily strained.  China co-signed (with the US) the sanctions against NK in February.   NK is China's 82nd largest trade partner.

Che is a more a T-shirt icon than a cult leader.   His image has been adopted for profit (most ironic) and repackaged by others for personal gains.

Also, Che gained notoriety in the 50's.  Kim Il-Sung in the 40's.

Maybe it`s just T-shirt, but I see a lot of people addoring him (even if they don`t really know all the crimes he commited), and about Kim Il-Sung, I don`t know as well if he is still adored. But I get your point.
