Sorry I didn't play Fallout 1 or 2. But between Fallout 3, NV and Fallout 4, I think Fallout 4 is the best.
It comes down to freedom, open world, gameplay. I love RPGs, but I do not play Fallout games for old RPG stuff. To me Fallout 4 has the best gameplay and open world out of the three.
When it comes to JRPGs I don't value open world and freedom as much, but I still love them for different values.
It seems playing Fallout 2 dampened your expectations for the Fallout franchise, just as Morrowind makes me dislike Skyrim.
