MARVEL GAMES IS "SHARING YOUR CONCERNS" ABOUT MARVEL: ULTIMATE ALLIANCE WITH ACTIVISION

http://www.pcgamer.com/marvel-games-is-sharing-your-concerns-about-marvel-ultimate-alliance-with-activision/

The action-adventure Marvel: Ultimate Alliance and its sequel, MUA2, were recently re-released, which should have been happy news—the originals were pretty good stuff, after all. Alas, as James explains here, the ports turned out to be a “shoddy bargain bin redux” update of the originals that's “laughable” for the $60 bundle ($40 individually) they're being sold for on Steam. Ouch.

LIFE IS STRANGE DEV REVEALS NEW STUDIO AND BATTLECREW SPACE PIRATES, A COMPETITIVE ONLINE SHOOTER

http://www.pcgamer.com/life-is-strange-dev-dontnod-reveals-new-studio-and-battlecrew-space-pirates-a-competitive-online-shooter/

I'll give this much to Dontnod: It's doing a heck of a job avoiding pigeonholes. From the small-town adventures of a time-warping young woman and her best friend, the studio moved to an early 20th-century action adventure about a doctor who's also a vampire. And now it's off to make a competitive multiplayer shooter, with “high-paced gameplay, both accessible and deep,” called Battlecrew Space Pirates.

THE BIOWARE FORUMS ARE CLOSING DOWN FOREVER

http://www.pcgamer.com/the-bioware-forums-are-closing-down-forever/

The last time I posted in the BioWare forums was early 2012—a brief, silly dust-up over Retake Mass Effect—and I haven't used them with any kind of regularity since before the EA takeover. So I can't claim that today's announcement that they are being closed down, so that BioWare can focus on mainstream social media, has shattered my heart into a million pieces, leaving a void that can never be filled. But it is kind of sad.

DISNEY INFINITY SHUTDOWN DETAILED BY DISNEY

http://www.pcgamer.com/disney-infinity-shutdown-detailed-by-disney/

The toys-to-life fad is pretty much over, at least in the eyes of Disney, who is shutting down its entire range of passable action-platformers supported by piles of plugin toys, and parents' bank accounts. If you own Disney Infinity 1, 2 or 3 you're probably wondering what's going to happen to all your stuff, and Disney has now provided a detailed schedule revealing when every version will be taken offline.

DEUS EX: MANKIND DIVIDED HAS GONE GOLD

http://www.pcgamer.com/deus-ex-mankind-divided-has-gone-gold/

Of course—chortle—Deus Ex: Mankind Divided was already gold, given the overwhelming amount of the colour featured in both this game and its predecessor. But 'gold' is a term that here means ' the game is done', and it's very unlikely to suffer another delay like the one that pushed it from February into the mechanical hinterland of August.

WORLD OF WARCRAFT'S DEMON HUNTER AVAILABLE AUGUST 9, IF YOU PRE-ORDER

http://www.pcgamer.com/world-of-warcrafts-demon-hunter-available-august-9-if-you-pre-order/

World of Warcraft's Legion expansion arrives on August 30, but its horde of demons will be trickling into Blizzard's MMO before then. That trickling will begin on August 9, the developer has announced, and on the same date certain players will be able to make Demon Hunters in an effort to combat them. You'll need to pre-order Legion to play around with Demon Hunters in advance of the expansion—oh, and you'll also need to have a level 70 character on the same realm you're looking to play on. The new class will start at level 98.

AN AUSTRALIAN POLITICIAN WANTS COUNTER-STRIKE: GO TO BE DEFINED AS GAMBLING

http://www.pcgamer.com/an-australian-politician-wants-counter-strike-go-to-be-defined-as-gambling/

An Australian senator has announced that he intends to introduce a bill defining Counter-Strike: Counter Offensive as gambling, thanks to its weapon skin trading system. In what looks to be a world first, independent senator Nick Xenophon will introduce the bill when the Australian federal parliament resumes next month.

TELLTALE’S BATMAN LOCAL MULTIPLAYER DESIGNED FOR UP TO 12 PLAYERS, NOT 2000

http://www.pcgamer.com/telltales-batman-local-multiplayer-designed-for-up-to-12-players-not-2000/

Telltale’s narrative-led slant on Batman arrives tomorrow, bringing with it Crowd Play—a new local multiplayer feature the Californian developer hopes will turn its games “into an event that you host at your home”. Starting tomorrow, it was revealed last week that the feature will appear in all of Telltale’s forthcoming games, however won’t support 2,000 players as first thought.
