I have been contemplating selling my Xbox One or trading it to get a Playstation 4. I can't deny that there are a lot of games that the PS4 has that I want to play plus I'm somewhat upset Microsoft is letting go of Kinect by removing things like Xbox Fitness. Sadly, I cannot have two consoles seeing how I'm a full-time professional with plenty of work to do plus in a committed relationship about to get married at the end of the year.

So there are a couple of issues before I do make that jump, though. First, I am a wire cutter and the fewer machines I have to watch TV, the better. The reason I enjoy my Xbox One is that I'm pretty casual, and it has the ESPN app and pretty much all the typical apps like Netflix, Amazon Instant Video, Hulu, and SlingTV, etc. I understand that PS4 does not have ESPN app except on the whole PS Vue I believe. But if I'm correct that PS TV thing charges to use, am I correct?

So let me know if it's worth it to make the switch for someone like me.

By the way Wii U owners, what apps does the Wii U have? I am also considering it if it has the apps I mentioned above.

I am a happy ps vue user and I was against it at first. I thought it was a dumb idea that cost as much as having a tv service.

After awhile I tried the 7 day free trial on a whim and my family loved it over what we had (fios).

First take: I actually checked my existing costs closer

So I then did the math (which I should of done from the begining instead of listening to game reviewers opining, honestly) and learned to my surprise it would save me alot of money. I called and cut my plan off and in the process got a better internet price and swapped over and have not looked back. It saves me roughly $70 a month, give or take.

Second take: Quality

Another point at which I should have ignored sites (like I tend to do on game reviews) I learned the quality is good.

Pros:

The menu blows away the speed (excruciatingly slow) of fios

The app blows away the app I had for tablet use from Fios (my wife, who uses it the most, loves it so much more)

It has all the channels I need and I like the tiers it offers

I love the unlimited dvr (i paid more for no dvr on fios)

I like the netflix type menu and search features (if I want sci fi, I search that and voila I get tons of upcoming sci fi I can save for DVR later)

My family loves having their own profiles of their stuff as it personalizes the experience

It has had multiple improvements to it since I started not least of which was giving me a monthly price cut of $10

Cons:

Works on multiple devices simultaneously except two ps4's (which I was told was a licensing issue they're working on).  I did not have more then one cable box so it's not a huge deal but I do interestingly have two ps4's so I'd like that function.  I could always use a roku or amazon stick (which sony mailed me free btw, although I stupidly gave it away to someone) but it's the principle :).

I only post this because I saw a lt of negativity about this service for awhile and I let it persuade me when I shouldn't have.  There is a free trial so I'd sugeest anyone interested at least try it.  If you're totally against it than ignore my post :).

My last thought:

I wish MS would do a similar service to create competition and (hopefully) drive this type of service farther.  It's like netflix for tv and I like it a lot.  Having more options would be excellent.

l <---- Do you mean this glitch Gribble?  If not, I'll keep looking.
