It's not that him owning a lot of varied companies makes him thirsty for power.... It's a business strategy, one that he helped pioneer actually, in which you own many companies that feed into each other. ie; you own a hotel. You own the convention center nearby. You own the food suppliers. You own the taxis. You own the office supply company. You own the mail. You own the nearby restaurants.
By doing this, you feed all the expenses into the others. So, when your company caters, you cater from the restaurant, which got it's truck from your distribution center, with ingredients from your farm. All the workers in the area travel around in your taxis, and eat out at your restaurants. They get their mail from your company, etc.
In this way, you're never actually spending money, but funneling it all back into itself. Your employees pay you rent from the condos you own, buy cars from your dealership...etc.
It's actually a very smart way of doing business.

Look to the side. My point was over there. You missed it.

If you mean that his name is on everything, you could simply attribute that to branding. Egotistical branding maybe, but there are a lot of business owners who name everything after their own name. No different than Lou from down the street owning Lou's bagels, or Oreilly and Sons construction and automotive.
