http://www.pcgamer.com/remedy-is-developing-the-story-mode-for-upcoming-fps-crossfire-2/

Remedy Entertainment, the studio that gave us Max Payne, Alan Wake, and Quantum Break, has announced a surprising but potentially very cool partnership with Korean game company Smilegate to create the story mode for the upcoming FPS CrossFire 2.

THE CREATORS OF BURNOUT ARE WORKING ON A NEW DRIVING GAME

http://www.pcgamer.com/the-creators-of-burnout-are-working-on-a-new-driving-game/

In a recent interview, Three Fields Entertainment Creative Director Alex Ward said the studio had effectively given up on Dangerous Golf. Reviews weren't good, it didn't sell well, and “the team simply can't afford to do anything else with it,” he said. Regarding what it would do next, he added, “It’s no secret that we’d like to get going on a driving title.” And guess what happened today?

BETHESDA'S PREY HAS "NO TIE" WITH THE PREVIOUS GAME, ARKANE BOSS SAYS

http://www.pcgamer.com/bethesdas-prey-has-no-tie-with-the-previous-games-arkane-boss-says/

After literally years of rumor and speculation, Bethesda finally announced at E3 this year that the alien incursion-slash-talk-radio FPS Prey is coming back. But what we saw in our brief glimpse at the show appeared to be very different from the original game, and also nothing like the teaser for the aborted Human Head sequel. And in a "What is Prey?" video released today, Arkane boss Raphael Colantonio confirmed very explicitly that the new game has absolutely no connection to the old one.

POST-APOCALYPTIC RAILROAD ADVENTURE THE FINAL STATION WILL BE OUT IN AUGUST

http://www.pcgamer.com/post-apocalyptic-railroad-adventure-the-final-station-will-be-out-in-august/

I was a little iffy on The Final Station, the end-of-the-world horror story about driving a train across Russia to rescue survivors from glowing-eyed shadow-zombies, when I previewed it last month. I very much like the concept, but what I saw of the actual gameplay didn't really work for me, in particular the linear level designs and inability to make any meaningful choices as I explored. But previews are not reviews, and pre-release games are not finished, and so I continue to hold out hope that it will achieve (or at least come close to) its potential when it goes into full release on August 30.

DEAD RISING 4 DEV DIARY ASSURES US THAT FRANK WEST IS A COOL GUY

http://www.pcgamer.com/dead-rising-4-dev-diary-assures-us-that-frank-west-is-a-cool-guy/

Dead Rising is all about mowing down undead in the most spectacular ways possible, and the forthcoming fourth instalment is no exception. As a means to ensure this, Dead Rising 4 is returning to Willamette, in particular the large shopping mall which featured in earlier games. Since every object is a weapon in Dead Rising 4, this means you can use novelty swords and even post boxes, if you want.

DIABLO 3 PATCH 2.4.2 "COMING SOON", WILL LET YOU HIDE THE UI

http://www.pcgamer.com/diablo-3-patch-242-coming-soon-will-let-you-hide-the-ui/

Blizzard offered its preliminary patch notes for version 2.4.2 of Diablo over a month ago, and while that still hasn't made its way into the game proper, it's "coming soon", according to a new blog post that goes into the patch in more detail. You'll remember, of course, that 2.4.2 adds a hotkey to hide the UI, letting you better appreciate the environment, and maybe build a photo journal of your adventures through Diablo 3's miserable world. Hey, I'd look at that.

http://www.pcgamer.com/dota-2-battle-pass-update-adds-crazy-new-vr-spectator-mode/

Hot on the heels of the latest batch of Immortal cosmetics and the news that this year's International prize pool is now the largest esports pot of all time, Valve have updated the International 2016 Battlepass with all-new features: including the crazy Dota 2 VR spectator mode they teased back in March.

STAR WARS: THE OLD REPUBLIC'S KNIGHTS OF THE FALLEN EMPIRE CONCLUDES NEXT MONTH

http://www.pcgamer.com/star-wars-the-old-republics-knights-of-the-fallen-empire-concludes-next-month/

Have you been following Star Wars: The Old Republic's Knights of the Fallen Empire storyline? It's an episodic story expansion, whacked into the MMO free for subscribers, and it's final chapter is arriving in a couple of weeks. Specifically, on August 9 for "qualified" SW:TOR subscribers, and on August 11 for the stinky regular kind.

THIS IS THE POLICE DELAYED BY A FEW DAYS

http://www.pcgamer.com/this-is-the-police-delayed-by-a-few-days/

Crooked cop sim This Is the Police was supposed to release today. Look, here's Andy saying as much 23 days ago. Unfortunately it won't, and the reason given is kind of adorable.

YOOKA-LAYLEE'S TOYBOX DEMO OUT NOW FOR KICKSTARTER BACKERS

http://www.pcgamer.com/yooka-laylees-toybox-demo-out-now-for-kickstarter-backers/

Hopes for a 3D platformer revival rest on the shoulders of the colourful Yooka-Laylee (with a few hopes reserved for A Hat in Time, and also Poi). The full thing isn't expected until early next year, but if you threw $20 at the Kickstarter you should receive an email today with a key for the Toybox: a sandbox demo offering a taste of the game's systems, in an environment separate from the main game. Meanwhile, backers who shelled out $35 or above will be given access to Toybox+, which also includes a new area, and combat.

>>I'm waiting your opinions, backers.
