How did having the combined support of 3DS & Wii U work out for Wii U? I hope you realize how your post makes no sense in response to what I said. |
Yes, 3DS and Wii U's libraries weren't shared, though quite a few of the larger indies and Nintendo games got either ports to both systems or their own version. Still, I was more focusing on your statement that it was more important than getting ports of PS4/XBO games. Sorry, but that is not true. It is very imperative that NX gets strong 3rd party support. Otherwise, it'll become another Wii U. There just aren't enough die hard Nintendo fans out there to make the NX a success on Nintendo games alone.
Which really makes the HW specs, if the rumor is true, underwhelming. Sure, they are good for a HH, but this is supposed to be both a HH and a home console. Something that will probably be close to the Wii U in real world application isn't going to pull people away from the much more powerful PS4/XBO. If this is Nintendo's answer for next gen, it really needed to be more powerful. Of course, that would push the price up to a place where people aren't willing to pay, $249+. As it stands, if this is going to be a success it will definitely need to cheap. Probably under $180 cheap. I don't know if Nintendo is going to be able to do that given they couldn't make the Wii U HW profitable day one, even though it was using outdated HW. We shall see, though.
