Favorite canceled manga? Usually I don't start manga until it's somewhat established or completed, so nothing major comes to mind. I watched the Shaman King anime for a little while, which was apparently canceled right in final arc of the manga. I also read Double Arts long after it was cancelled. My answer is probably one of those I guess.

Eiichiro Oda Knows What the Final One Piece Panel Will Be

Fuji TV announcer Daijirō Enami appeared at a Tokyo premiere event for One Piece Film Gold on Saturday and shared a tidbit from his recent interview with One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda: when Enami asked if Oda has the manga's final panel already planned out, he received an emphatic "yes."

Oda also assured him that "it's very cool."

Well, that's good to know.  Also mentioned is that "the One Piece story was about 65% done."

Hm...part of me was wondering if Oda would kill Luffy off in the end as another parallel to Roger. Though I suppose even if that was true, it might be cool depending on how it's done.

Anyway, I have a ton of respect for Oda's writing style. He's the easily the biggest supporter of the Chekhov's Gun trope I've seen in this medium...or hell, really any medium. It's really reassuring to know his Log Pose is pointed in the right direction.

I have this theory that the ability of Roger to hear the voices of all things was a sign of the disease that killed him, in some of the recent chapters Luffy heard the voice of a certain animal, so maybe it's because he contracted said disease, in the end while Roger was far older when he ended his journey we have to think that during the story Luffy lost many years of his life...

I'm pretty sure he had the final panel in mind as soon as he started with the series.

At least that's how it goes for me, when thinking about making a story how it'll end is usually one of, if not THE first thing to come in mind.

Yup, he said many times that he knew since the beginning how the story would have ended, but it's still interesting to know that he already made the panel
