Sonic would qualify under the "games to expect" from third parties on a Nintendo console since it's almost non existend that a Sonic game skips a Nintendo console. (Although Sonic Generations wasn't on the Wii but was on the 3DS).

I guess it's just something we're going to have to agree to disagree on then honestly. I just don't like the thinking that Nintendo could never pull off a system that had everything, because they could it's just that they always manage to fuck something up.

Sort of like the last part of your post, sure Nintendo doesn't HAVE to, but they should and could if they wanted to. You're essentially saying "Why should Nintendo have third party games on their system when you can get third party games on other systems", more games on one console is never a bad thing and it would put an end to the whole "Buying a Nintendo system to only get Nintendo games" thing that Nintendo seems to be stuck in right now too.

Eh, we'll have to wait and see then.

Nintendo isn't going to make non Nintendo-like games, I think we can all agree they'd sooner go full mobile.

I'm saying why should Nintendo greatly go out of their way and take such a huge risk trying to be another PS4 when it's proven they can be successful without major third party support. There's nothing wrong with buying a system only for Nintendo games, and really that would still be the only reason to pick up Nintendo's PS4 over Sony's or at all if you already have a third party system which many by this point do. Yes it'd be great if the NX had third party games, just like it'd be great if the PS4/XB1/PC had Nintendo games, but I'm not gonna say they're disappointments just because they don't have every single game, that's too unrealistic an expectation. I'll judge them based on the librarys they do have.
