You're right, my bad. What I mean by that is sure the NX will probably get Japan support as in the usual games like Monster Hunter, Yokai Watch, etc, etc but aside from the ones you can expect like that it will be Wii U level again where it is missing all the big third party releases etc. I don't see Battlefield 1 releasing on it or anything like that. And I don't like the type of thinking of "Well PS and Xbox are more known for third party games" because once again that is Nintendo's own fault as they always mess something up and give developers a reason not to support their systems. Nintendo could have a console where it is known for them to get third party support as well, but it won't be the NX because once again they're going to be severely underpowered. We'll just have to see how this plays out. (If it's true, I mean. It could all be completely wrong, we'll just have to see when Nintendo finally reveals the NX themselves). I hope the best for Nintendo, but i'm just truly dissapointed in this if it ends up being true. |
Big western games sure, but we already have Sonic 2017 confirmed, and maybe Square will bring some of it's big guns over.
Yep Nintendo done fucked up, but that doesn't make it any less true. The NES/SNES days where they had all the third party by default are long gone. Now they'd have to work for it, and a powerful console alone isn't even half the battle, as Wii U didn't even get PS3/360 ports. To be known for third party games they would need to go out of their way making games that appeal to the same audiences third party games do like Sony and Microsoft to ensure that they have people who'll buy these games on their platform. Needless to say, that's never gonna happen, so Nintendo will never again be known for having third party (unless Sony/Microsoft explode). Definitely not ideal, but not the end of the world either. Nintendo just has to accept that reality and roll with it.
Why though? I mean, if you just want third party, there's already plenty of systems for that, I don't see why Nintendo absolutely has to be yet another.
