Is this a joke, or do you genuinely believe that detachable motion controllers make any sense for a portable system? |
You set NX up on a table, with the screen upright in front of you, now you use it's stand to hold it up, then take the controllers off and play games alone or pass one controller to a friend to include them in a local multiplayer game.
This actually brings a more console like style of gamplay to a portable system, along with the potential to turn that portable device into a more social gaming experience, anywhere (so long as you have power). Imagine you're sitting in a coffee shop, bump into a friend who hasn't seen an NX before, he would like to play something with you, so you load a game the two of you can play right there and then.
If more than one NX can link up locally it's possible you could have big LAN tournaments of games with a bunch of people playing together anywhere and with 2 sharing a single system. All because you could set the system up on a table and detach the controllers.
That's pretty different from a tablet that can just connect to the TV.
Having detachable controllers also doesn't prevent you from just using this on your own, it just adds extra flexibility to the kind of experiences NX could provide to gamers that get one.
