Going from having games bundled to then having no games would make more people inclined to wait for holiday deals. Also Scorpio won't be marketed as a "next gen" console, but as an upgraded Xbox One, so it'll have a high price compared to the XB1. Scorpio is the high end XB1, S is the budget XB1. |
Where do you think the vanilla PS4 would be if it was $300? It would be above the COD bundle which generally holds a position in the top 20. Here we have a NEW XB1 slim console that goes for $300 (already $50 cheaper than the PS4 COD bundle) and they feel it necessary to add in 2 Halo games. It doesn't matter how you look at that it's an insane strategy that can only lead to future customers waiting for those inevitable deals. Add to that the obsessive focus MS has for Christmas and you can see how that's a recipe for disaster for everything but the last 3 to 4 months of the year. It's a train wreck of a strategy.
