Pet ownership - morally reprehensible?

On a side note speaking of pets: My friend had to give his pet parrot away to a farm because his new place wouldn't allow pets, only for my friend to find a Kijiji ad that's looking for a lost parrot a few months later lol.

Why discriminate against the ugly ones?

I'm not, society is.  Just look at your common pet store and their 'selective' pets. 

I think raccoons are cool but probably not everybody thinks so and likely wont see them at a pet store.
