To be fair, 10+ million core Nintendo fans is nothing to sneeze at. If only Naughty Dog supported PS, I'm sure the PS4 would do the same numbers.

THAT BEING SAID, I agree with everything else you said. This simply isn't a good idea.

Nah.  If the PS4 had the same third pary support as Wii U, and only Naughty Dog, they'd be lucky to get to five million. They just don't have the output or as big franchises.

They don't? How do you come abiut that? Sony has more published IPs than nintendo. And moat of them do veey well. Regardless, that's a big "if" you are using to push ur theory; cause Sony doesmt have "only" naughty dog. I'm not saying that with what Sony has and if that was all that was on their platform they would fare much better than the wiiU, cause I've always believed that a platform without third-party (aka all the games possible) is DOA.

anyways, my biggest concern here is that Nintendo is still trying to go for this mystical casual core. The people that play on phones and tablets. Rather than them make a full blooded home console and compete in that space and expand from there.  They are putting too much faith in an extremely fickle crowd. And trying to compete in a segment that is saturated with too many really cheap and more versatile products.
