I doubt it's true. Nintendo seemed pretty clear that it was a home console. This sounds like a portable Wii U and not much more powerful either. This poses more problems than they currently have. It also doesn't line up with other rumors.... unless there is more to it that will blow us away.
Could this just be a handheld companion to the actual console and they will reveal them at the same time? Maybe even push up the handhelds release and release it first? There's a lot of things they can do with this, but it's not going to satisfy a lot of fans or gamers if this is marketed as a console.
