There was a time when I was an RPG/Japanese game snob. I looked down on FPS games because everyone around me said they were for "teenagers trying to be mature" and such.

From there, I jumped to PC but my Packard Bell could only run MMOs. I spent years playing Ragnarok and WoW and a few others.

After that, I dropped out of MMOs. I tried Fallout 3 and absolutely loved it. I realized FPS games could be a blast, too.

Ultimately, I wouldn't say my taste has changed, just that it's grown. Some of the stuff I used to play, like brawlers and platformers, I really only played because they were a large part of the selection being offered. It's like picking the meat loaf at the cafeteria because the other choices are cabbage casserole and vegan pizza.
