Since they clearly want to show that this game is from the same creators of Colors and Generations, I think it's safe to say it will follow the same formula... A Mix of 2D and 3D for Modern Sonic, and Full 2D for Classic Sonic.

That's what I think.

They are done with boost gameplay. I believe the next would be entirely new awhile ago. On stage last night they said it is not sequel to anything its brand new. I think this time they're are going to try and tie them both into one gameplay style. That Creators of Colors and Gen is just pandering. When credits were check against Gen and Lost World many of the same people worked on both.
