We have everything PC Data ever released. And everything NPD ever released. And everything GfK ever released. It's just a matter of going through decades-old, dusty paper archives and digging out everything....which is very time-consuming.

And it's also hard to explain to curious co-workers. "Yeah...the reason I'm not working is....well...some people on an Internet video game forum want some old video game sell-through data..."

We'll see.

Oh. It's all archived on paper. I see. Well, I'm not going to expect you to out of your way for me over something that's admittedly trivial. But if you do decide to go through it all one day, let me know.

Well yeah, silly.

We have video game sales data going all the way back to the 1980's. That was back before the Internet even existed! Everything was archived on paper back then.

Not even The NPD Group has their full archives of numbers digitized. You can't even access old NPD numbers past a certain point on their online portal.
