Eh, too many games have co-op these days.
I wouldn't mind it if they popped in and out for a few levels OR if two people play together, in the same game, but in different areas that effect each other (like the parts in Gears where delta broke into 2 groups). That would be awesome, but highly unlikely.
Imagine the possibilities though (for a two path with crossing sections co-op):
- Distracting the enemy
- Rerouting the enemy by destroying paths they can go through
- provide cover fire
- puzzles
- Multistory boss battles
I think straight co-op is too empowering for a survival horror game, you want the player to feel as though they are helpless and could die at any moment, you don't want them to feel as though they have another target the enemy can attack.
I'm definitely looking forward to this game though.
