you know you're getting further from 1st world by turning to a fascist regime where civilians are killed on the streets by mobs under the government protection right?

that's how you turn a country that people would be curious to visit and spend money in it's economy into a shithole like saudi arabia or iraq.

please think about it before blindly defending such an insane measure, just because your president dictates it.

no one here wants harm to your country, that's why we are being critical of this insanity.

False. The legal killings being done are under police operations and is still subject to investigation if there's lack of evidence that the suspect in question was a victim of false accusation or he/she did not put his/her apprehender's life in peril.

Vigilanteism is another thing and that's not what the government wants. Well if you get caught atleast you have to prove that you didn't kill an innocent human being and he/she didn't put your life in danger while apprehending him/her. That's the gist.

In terms of the economy, well it seems like a lot of foreign investors are happier with the current regime. I mean a foreigner getting kidnapped(then killed by Abu Sayyaf) in Philippines is likelier to happen than a foreigner getting killed because of drugs.

Unless you're a drug dealer/addict who fought to escape when found out, you can't really be afraid for your life in here.

IMO you are only critical with us because you don't know a thing about us. That's called xenophobia.

give me a fucking break and go use the xenophobia card somewhere else. i don't care in which country it is, killing people because they chose to use a drug for their own pleasure or need is barbaric. the main problem starts from the druga being illegal in the first place.

there are a number of countries were drug use is absolutely legal and none of those countries are riddled with drug lords or kingpins.

when drugs are legal, they become a business like any other. taxes are paid, safety standards are put in place (just like the case of alcohol in most of the civilized world) and it brings jobs to the economy which helps the citizens of the country.

apparently instead of going the progressive route that even the US (finally) began to take by legalizing weed in several states, your president decided to go full on 3rd world and murder people for daring to have a little bit of fun in their lives.

you can try to spin it anyway you want it, but it's barbaric and your country will be hurt by it unfortunately.

i have a few friends living there that i've met through the years, right now i hope they get the chance to leave as soon as possible.
