At this point PS2 was 18 months into $100 pricedrop and was retailing for $199. PS4 cost $50 less than what it did at launch and is retailing for $350 which is $50 more than what the PS2 even launched at.

And to OP. What exactky are you seeing that indicates that consoles need saving? This is just the 6th gen all over again. PS2 dominating, xbox holding its own and Gamecube failing. Only difference now is that the Xbox is doing better than it evee did and nintendo did worse than it ever did.

PlayStation 2 - 157.68M

Xbox - 24.65M

Gamecube - 21.74M

You're saying that Xbox held its own against PS2 and Gamecube failed, even though there's less than a 3M difference between those two whereas the PS2 sold THREE TIMES MORE than BOTH consoles COMBINED? If Gamecube was a failure, so was OG Xbox.

Xbox was a brand new console, and it outsold a veteran platform in its debut year. That Cannot be considered a failure.

GC was the 4th console from nintendo, and didnt sell as well as the N64 and even sold less than a newcomer in the xbox. That to me is a failure. Its not just about numbers.

Then now this gen, PS4 is the best selling playstation console in aonys history to date, Xbox one is the best selling ever Xbox console to date and the wiiU is the worst sellimg nintendo console to date.
