I only had a PS3 and I never got the YLOD. However my OG 60GB PS3 started to get major graphical glitches early this year so I had to retire it from PS3 gaming duties and purchase an Ultra-Slim model. The PS1 gaming, PS2 gaming, and Blu-Ray playback still work perfectly fine on it.
I did try to set the solder in hopes that it would fix it but the RSX GPU was too far gone for that fix to work.
Still no PS4 for me, I am now waiting on news of the NEO to buy. I don't feel right buying a PS4 without knowing the cost, release date, or real benefits of the NEO and/or the possible SLIM model. I may just have to sit on my money and upgrade to a GTX 1080 until more info comes out.
