Second, on the whole we aren't at 50% digital for AAA console games. Why are you picking out a few exceptions? 

well this is NPD, so the us market we're talking about
Madden is an kind of "us market" only game. that's the reason, for the high digital attachrate. a game like fifa has a way lower digital attachrate
the sources are ea conference call and the leaked 30% frist week dd attachrate for halo 5

 

i just found it weird you said years.  one year yes, but it won't even take 3 years to be over 50% full digital game download for games like uncharted or tombraider.
retail new game sales today are pretty much just 3 things anymore.
Huge longlasting games like GTA, Minecraft etc. Initial sales for the hottest new big release. Giftgiving in the holiday.

This is all part of the reason, why today is great news. You will be amased to see games like Battlefield 4 back in NPD top 10 due to digital backlog sales
