Digital for console games will overtake the 50% mark in the next few years and makes up a huge chunk of consoles game sales so it's surprising it's taken this long. With the digital data being more buried than the other data, hopefully we still get snippets of digital ratios from either publishers or leakers.

We will also start to see PC games feature in the NPD charts more often so we can get a better comparison of PC vs Console game sales. So even if we don't get digital data, we should still get the top 10 chart with PC digital sales taken into account.

huh? games like halo 5 and madden 16 are already at 50%. and overwatch probably, too. if not right now, it will in some (very) few months :)
i wonder though, if subscriber will get more details than the press. and actual attachrates. so retail, vs digital figueres. and paticipating publisher will get even more

Great news! And about damn time, they're running 6-7 years behind schedule, I can't believe investors and subscribers didn't hound them more about this than they have until now.

investors and subscribers can hound them all they like, in the end digital isn't like physical, they can't go to the retailers to get the information as it is purely in the hands of the publishers and whether they can convince them to share, seems they still haven't convinced MS, Sony or Nintendo and to be honest I am not suprised as their isn't a lot in it for them to share this info.

MS and Sony would proably get digital attachrate for third party titels on the opponent plaform to see how diffent they perform. and do better target marketing. get to know your audience better, etc. right now, they only have theire own data. So the question is what's more impoartant. protect the own data, or get the data form the others
