Looks like the amount of gems varies a lot.  I see 750 to 1200.  I have around 500.

Looking at the old games I've beaten that I didn't get cards for is kind of sad.

So if you haven't bought games on Steam lately, they lock you out from the Steam trading card market? That's pretty crappy from Valve.

I bought most if not all my Steam games during a Sale, and there are several months between them.

I think it may be something else.
