The shootings are the tip of the iceberg, there are many more present steps of racism that we need to acknowledge as a country that happen before it gets to that level. How is it that a presidential candidate(Trump) can freely discuss how he wants to get rid of immigrants out of the United States and we not realize how bad of a place we are in? I think these crimes against all innocent people are inexcusable, but until you've been in the shoes of many minorities who throughout their lives have been on the receiving end of racial profiling, it's hard for most to have a perspective on the real world.

Many people here probably shouldn't comment on to why these situations escalate to levels like this and only get major attention because someone so happened to record the initial shooting on their phone. I do feel that cops in the line of duty need to protect themselves, but why are they always shooting to kill when there are so many other parts of the body to take down a suspect. Having this much drama in our own country just proves that we have no business being in someone else's telling them how to live and what's right or wrong!

You should check out a musician called Akala and his discussion on racism, he brings up a deep point in how racism is subconsciously fed to people in society, for example he highlights how we initiated the wars in Iraq, Afghan while intervening in Libya which sparked the rise of ISIS causing an unstable situation and when people are fleeing the carnage the refugees are subject to attacks in the media of the same countries who had a hand in causing the who situation. He also highlights that in Britain people coming over here are referred to as immigrant while British people migrating to other countries are called expats, the same thing but one word has a more negative vibe to it, it was quite deep what he said.

Morgan Freeman had the right idea in which in order to make a start in reducing the distance between ethnicity we should first stop referring to eachother as different ethnic groups in which he's right as subconciously if I were to think of someone as a white person rather than just a person and they were to think of me as a black person it's a slight hurdle for unity as we've essentially been separated into groups and over time as a person develops a gap is created that becomes harder to ignore.
