OVERWATCH SUDDEN DEATH DURATIONS TWEAKED IN LATEST UPDATE

Blizzard has rolled out a new Overwatch patch that changes Sudden Death durations on nearly all maps and makes changes to Competitive Mode to ensure that players aren't improperly penalized for leaving a match if they rejoin it before it ends.

 

LAWBREAKERS ALPHA TESTING RESUMES THIS WEEKEND WITH A NEW MAP

The online team-based FPS LawBreakers will undergo another round of alpha testing this weekend, from 9 am to 9 pm PT on July 9 and 10. The test will be limited to North American and European servers this time around, and will once again feature the Overcharge game mode, with four roles (eight characters) doing battle on the new Santa Monica Promenade map.

 

ELITE DANGEROUS: ARENA IS FREE FOR THE WEEKEND

Elite Dangerous: Arena, the stand-alone Close Quarter Combat mode of the space trucking sim Elite Dangerous, is currently free for the taking and will remain so until 1 pm ET on July 11. And if you grab it at any time during the freebie weekend, you can keep it forever.

GTA ONLINE IS GETTING A TRACKMANIA-ESQUE STUNT RACING MODE

Since it released last year, players have managed to pull off all manner of ridiculous stunts in GTA 5, and they've not needed much encouragement either. Now Rockstar is giving us some active encouragement, because soon 'Cunning Stunts' will join GTA Online's growing roster of game modes.

 

NEW OVERWATCH HERO WILL BE REVEALED THIS MONTH

We've known that references to future Overwatch heroes are hidden in its maps since it launched. Blizzard has also been teasing something on the Overwatch Twitter account for a few days. Now it's all but certain that a new hero will be revealed at or before San Diego Comic-Con, July 21.
