The main problem with Smash is the balance.. The balance between casual and competitive to be more exact. Nintendo wants to be able to cater to both of these groups in order to maximize sales, so they need to be able to find the balance between the two in order for both parties to enjoy the game. Smash was able to appeal to the competitive players due to the technicality and things you can do with all these crazy button imputs, whereas casual players can still enjoy playing the game by Smashing people off the stage by spamming the C-stick

So most of your points are completely fine with fixing some much needed issues like with Online (I don't play online unless with friends because of how annoying it is) However, at the same time, things like cutting the roster size may not be the best move (yes, this point does get a lot of pushback) Games like Streetfighter boasts for being really balanced without having a massive tier list like in Smash (though is debatable, of course) and the sheer number in Smash makes it basically impossible for it to be 'fair' There will always be characters that are strictly better than others because of this, so what can we do? We can either trim the roster, or leave it be.. While trimming the roster will help with balancing, it will also take away some of the charm that Smash 4 has, with the bright and vast characters you can choose from (debatable).

Honestly, I think that Smash 4 already has too many characters, and hope that Smash 5 doesn't have like 70 characters =.= but I don't want them to trim a lot of characters down to like 30 though.. Merging clones can help too
