Wow. So Microsoft is risking the value of their whole Xbox brand and sacrificing the pride of their fans, just to see that a game like say Quantum Break sells an extra 20,000 copies on PC (assuming it sells 1 million on Xbox One during its lifetime). Actually I already had estimated it to be 40,000 PC Quantum Breaks compared with 1 million console, but it seems it's even worse. And I just can't see the potential going into the future. Nearly everyone has access to the store through just a couple of clicks on their desktop, but they just don't care. Personally I hate it, the tile layout, the colors, everything. I just can't believe how stupid Microsoft are. How can they not see that Windows Store will never succeed? I'm 100% sure of it. The maximum potential I see is that i can lift 4-5% more a year from now or when the next Halo comes out. Halo 6 sells 5 million on Xbox and 7% of that, 350,000 on PC Windows Store is the maximum potential. But that's it. And that will be only a fraction of what they would need to sell for this strategy to have been worth it compared with the old system with Xbox exclusives. I just can't believe how out of touch Microsoft is with the market once again. It's mindboggling. |
Yeah, MS about shooting in their legs again.
I can say more, PC gamers doesn't care about Halo at all. For them it's just another shooter, nothing extraordinary. When MS release their top 1 franchise in Windows Store or even Steam nothing will happen.
