At Steam and GOG, there are games that reach 60, 75 and even 80% off sales (I would like to link an example, but the Steam Sales have just ended). And that's without mentioning that the starting price of games tends to be a bit cheaper on PC.

And don't even bring BC to a discussion between console vs PC. It won't end well for you.

Those sales do sound good but were those for games that people actually care about or small indies/niche games?

See my edit.

And there's a market for every game. Point & Click fans love to see the Deponia games at 85% off during the Steam sales. Platformer fans would buy Toki Tori at 90% off (the same goes for the sequel), etc.

AAA games usually top between 50 and 66% off, which is quite a nice discount.

Please excuse my bad English.
