Difference is that sony learnt from their one mistake. Nintendo keeps making the same similar mistakes over and over and over again. Even the wii, vastly different they are just lucky the thing was a hit. But in truth what did it really do for them? it decimated their core base making the core nintendo base even lower than whst it was with the GC. Evident in the WiiU noy even managing to break 18M in sales over 4yrs. Sony took what was said about the PS3 and fixed everything. Evrry singke complaint made by devs or even consumers. Nintendo still to this day builds consoles like they are the only ones in the market. Hows that working out for them? Look at what sony is doing with VR or Vue. They at leadt first buikt a competent gaming playform then innovates on top that. Nintendo thinks about an innovation (that no one is reslly asking for) then builds a console around it instead. |
Of Course they learn, just look shift from GC to Wii, that is huge difference in approach.
There is nothing like core base, PS2 sold 155m and PS3 half of that, GC sold 23m, Wii sold 101m than Wii U 14m, original Xbox sold 30m and Xbox360 85m...it all about how much curent console is apeling to market, not about some mistakes from 90".
We relly dont know what is Nintendo doing with NX, I am sure they will not repet Wii U mistakes.
