And how big of a discount do the games use to get? Right now at Steam you can get a 40% off of the new Doom and GTA V, and a 50% off of The Witcher 3. Sure, you won't be able to get those three games for $60, neither on PC nor console, but there are thousands of other games, new and old, that you can get.

I'm not sure about the PSN sale but I assume it's like the xbox one. The summer sales starts tomorrow with 30-40% off games and up to 10% more if you have gold. Also with BC you can find cheap x360 that are playable on the xb1.

Consoles do have sales, but they never tend to be as competitive as steam sales.

Thats the thing about PC gaming, even if the amount spent initially is similar, between lack of fees and cheaper game prices the cost of continuing to play is far lower.
