My main issue with it are Microsofts own games on PC that have crossplatform multiplayer with XBO.

Forza Horizon 3 for example, multiplayer will be free on PC but need GOLD on XBO, when both systems have the exact same game, playing on the same servers with the same playerbase.

Microsofts Play Anywhere titles should be exempt from needing GOLD.

I fully understand your argument and think so, too.

What about Diablo 3? Those server are managed by Blizzard and it's free on PC. Do you have to pay on XBO to play it?

Yes you do but I don't really have an issue with GOLD being needed for third party titles. My problem is Microsoft charging you to play their OWN games, they're charging for online, on their own games on xbox, when PC and XBOX both get the exact same mutliplayer experience. If they weren't crossplatform I wouldn't have an issue with it honestly. It's just both connecting to the exact same servers, with the exact same players, playing the exact same game both distributed on a platform owned by the exact SAME company, that bothers me.

They're both connecting to the same service, a service owned by Microsoft, except one gets it free the other does not.
