Depends how they do it. With all the variable resolutions it would be best if it upscales directly to 4K to remove more rounding errors. But if it upscales to 1080p first as usual to add the HUD and then upscale everything to 4K to output on TV then it's pretty pointless. (Still better for lag than letting the tv do the 1080p to 4K upscale, just no gains in image quality)
