That...honestly never crossed my mind...and I still can't really see it. Other than appearance, the main villains had almost nothing in common. Cell was another overconfident villain whose greatest character development was increasing his power level yet again. Mereum was a conquest-focused monster who grew more and more human as he became close to Komugi. The rest of the villains had similar stories...I can't think of anything in Dragonball that has even come close in terms of character development.

Hero self-sacrifice is hardly unique to these two manga. I mean...I honestly can't think of anything else these two arcs shared other than that and the villains' appearance. What other similarities are you seeing?

The last manga had a sentence about it, but I dunno if it was during the translation or supposed to be like that, but the actual number wasn't there, there was just a void with a black shadow of something that looking at best like a 7.

The text was obscured intentionally...so it could be a double digit number. Considering how this 'final' arc has been going on for like four years now, I wouldn't be surprised if Kubo stretches this out another year.
