It's more unfortunate considering that I was also sucked into islamic extremism a long time ago. Teaching things like go to Jihad, dont befriend nonbelievers, claim any muslim who misses one prayer is an evil person, etc etc. What they teach is absolutely disgusting.

While I don't have anything against the non-extreme muslims, my experience with extremism will always be in the back of my mind. It's something I'll always regret for the rest of my life.

Glad to hear you've grown for the better. If you don't mind me asking, have you always lived in the states? Did you learn that thinking from your parents/community?

I have lived in the states for the majority of my life. Every other summer I live in the West Bank of Gaza(or in jerusalem).

Also, my parents are far from extreme. My mom isn't too religious, and my dad is moderate. Not too religious, but isn't exactly blind of his religion.

As for me, I learned the extremist ideology from members of a mosque I sometimes visited. Also had some people I knew who would share books and lectures of nut jobs who are better off in a mental asylum.

Only became non-religious after reading 1984 and Malcolm X's autobiography.
