After Bernie's campaign, if you vote for Trump, you're an even bigger hypocrite. There are certain things about Hillary that Bernie is against, but Bernie is wholly against Trump. Trump is basically the anti-Bernie in every way, shape and form; except for a couple of economic issues. |
I'd argue that both Trump and Hillary are both anti-Bernie to a pretty huge degree.
Hillary is a big corporate donor stooge who is a dyed-in-the-wool establishment political operator. This is a pretty horrendous thing for the American people, because it guarantees more of the same, it's gotten steadily worse over the years. If you're politically independent and look at individual issues of right vs. wrong instead of party affiliation, then you can see that GWB and Obama have been virtually indistinguishable over their presidencies, and the public rhetoric is just window dressing. When everyone in national politics is bought and paid for by the same corrupting influences, your vote literally has no value.
That's what Bernie was so great at : showing that he was different. He stuck to principles and logic to the best of his ability, and by and large was a unique and honest presence in the political spectrum. MEGA CORP/BANK didn't have him under their thumb. In that way, people are attracted to Trump for similar reasons : a total disgust at the political establishment.
Now personally, I don't believe anything that Trump says, because I believe that the only person that matters to Trump is Trump. He doesn't stand on principle, he stands on bluster and the absolute belief that he deserves the power of the Presidency, which is sort of stupid when you think about it.
The POTUS doesn't mean squat anymore, when the hivemind of corrupt paid-for political establishment guarantees the same old shit anyway. We could have Clint's empty chair for POTUS, or a shit-flinging monkey, and the result would be the same. And things will never change, never get better. The system is never going to cede that corrupting influence and structure, because doing the right thing isn't nearly as profitable for the entire political and corporate cabal. So the only thing that will allow change is the inevitable final collapse of the system and country as a whole. Nothing lasts forever.
